What is Tutitor?
Tutitor is a free web app for private and freelance tutors. It keeps your students, lesson calendar, attendance and tuition invoices in one place, syncs lessons to Google Calendar, and gives parents a link to view and pay the invoice. It runs on any phone or computer and installs to the home screen like an app.
What is tutor management software?
Tutor management software replaces the notebook and spreadsheet a tutor uses to track students, lessons, attendance and payments. Tutitor is a free one. You mark attendance on the calendar and it turns those marks into an itemized invoice.
Is Tutitor really free? What is the catch?
Yes. Every feature is free, with no trial, no paid tier and no credit card. There is no catch. Tutitor is new, and being free is how we earn tutors' trust first. We will always keep a free plan for individual tutors.
Who is Tutitor for?
Private tutors, freelance teachers, online tutors and small tutoring centers where one person runs the schedule and the billing. It is not a marketplace for finding students, and it is not built for schools or agencies with many teachers.
Do parents or students need an account?
No. Only the tutor signs in. Parents get a private link to the invoice, the monthly attendance card, shared lesson materials or your portfolio, and open it in a browser. You can revoke any link at any time.
How does billing handle missed lessons?
Each lesson has a status. Completed bills at the student's rate. Excused bills nothing. Unexcused bills at the share you set: full price, half or zero. The total is Completed × Rate plus Unexcused × Rate × Penalty, and a lesson is never billed twice.
Can I charge per hour, per lesson or a monthly fee?
All three, plus free lessons. Set a price per subject, override it for a student who pays differently, or put a student on a monthly plan. Prices are per currency, so a student billed in USD and one billed in VND can share the same subject.
Which currencies and languages does Tutitor support?
You can bill in 42 currencies, including VND, THB, IDR, MYR, PHP, SGD, USD, EUR, GBP, JPY and KRW. Each invoice is in one currency and Tutitor never converts. The app and invoices come in 21 languages, including English, Vietnamese, Thai, Indonesian, Malay, Filipino, Chinese, Japanese and Korean.
Does Tutitor work with Google Calendar and Google Meet?
Yes. Connect your Google account and every lesson is added to your Google Calendar. Online lessons get a Google Meet link automatically, one per weekly series, so students keep the same link. You can also subscribe to a private feed from Apple Calendar or Outlook.
How do parents pay?
By bank transfer or whatever you already use. Add a payout method once and it prints on every invoice: a VietQR code that Vietnamese banking apps scan and prefill, a QR image, bank details, a payment link or written instructions. Tutitor does not process card payments, so you mark the invoice paid when the money arrives.
Can I import my students from Excel?
Yes. Upload an .xlsx or .csv file, or paste the cells straight from a spreadsheet or a chat message. Tutitor matches the columns to name, phone and fee, shows every row for review, and you can undo the whole import afterwards.
Can I keep lesson materials and share them with students?
Yes. The library holds 15 GB of files per tutor, plus YouTube videos, links and notes, organized in folders. Share a folder with one student through a private link or make it public. You can attach items from the library to a lesson and write a note after each one.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. Tutitor is built for a phone first, for one hand between lessons. It runs in any modern browser and installs to the home screen on iPhone and Android with no app store. It works on a desktop too.
Is my data secure?
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256), and each tutor's data is kept separate from everyone else's. Only you can sign in. Parents see only what a link you shared allows, and you can revoke it. You can export your invoices and delete your account and data yourself at any time.
How is Tutitor different from TutorBird or Teachworks?
TutorBird and Teachworks are paid subscriptions priced in US dollars and built around tutoring businesses. Tutitor is free, built for one tutor working from a phone, bills in 42 currencies including VND, THB and IDR, prints a VietQR code on invoices, and never asks parents to create an account.
Is Tutitor available for tutors in Vietnam?
Yes, and that is where it started. The app and invoices are in Vietnamese, you bill in VND, and a VietQR code on each invoice lets parents pay from any Vietnamese banking app. Support replies in Vietnamese and English on Messenger.
